Having worked collaboratively with Forum for the Future and Action Sustainability, FSquared have completed a major project to help the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) develop a Sustainable Procurement Policy and Strategy. The Policy and Strategy will help the NWDA to ensure that it uses its spending power and influence on the market to support its leadership of the sustainable economic growth of Englands Northwest. The aim was to support the NWDA to realise the many benefits of a sustainable procurement approach. The new approach balances the full consideration of cost, quality and whole life value with a focus on outcomes that are safe, inclusive and sustainable. The NWDAs regional stakeholders played a key role in helping to shape the proposals. The Policy and Strategy will now be put before the NWDA board for formal approval and shared with other RDAs across the country. It is expected that many other public sector bodies within the region will refine the work done to date and adopt the Sustainable Procurement Policy and Strategy for their own purposes. Jon Wilcox led this project for FSquared. If you want to find out more about our public sector advisory services then please feel free to call Jon Wilcox or James Harding on 0161 273 5959 |
