Project: The vision for the Project was for the community of Beaumont Leys to run and manage their own community centre so that it plays its full role in community life.
FSquared was asked to produce an options appraisal and feasibility study to establish whether there was a sustainable business case for:
Home Farm being a community managed and led Community Building
The establishment of a small local company or a social enterprise to deliver conference and catering operations from Home Farm, contributing to the running costs of the centre.

Outcomes
A report which detailed:
• A review of the current operations in the building, service delivery issues faced by the Council due to changes in funding and the nature of the building and the Council’s approach to Community Governance
• A review of ownership, management and development options for the future of the building, the advantages, disadvantages and risks of each option
• An outline five year financial model for a community governance approach to the building, with including options for income generation via catering and conferencing and a community café with best practice examples from around the UK
• A review of available funding sources
• Consultation with potential development partners to understand how they would like to be involved in the building and barriers to this
• Detailed next steps for the organisation identifying key issues and questions that needed to be resolved including financial viability in the short, medium and long term, financial relationship with the Council, the skill set of the local community and maintaining community involvement and commitment in the longer term. The report provided the client with a clear route map to take the project forward and the tools to develop a business plan as the project evolved.
