| Project: | FSquared has developed a site based training model for Balfour Beatty Construction Northern Limited as a way of securing increased local benefit from their involvement in the Manchester Schools Framework. A Learning Hub was launched in November 2006 on the Newall Green School site and is operating as one of the first CITB ConstructionSkills Academies nationally. The Hub is delivering skills to both local people and experienced workers within the supply chain. Jobs will be created via the Hub as full time learners move into apprenticeship positions within the supply chain. Manchester College of Arts and Technology is the principal training provider on site and is engaged in a strategic partnership with Balfour Beatty. FSquared are now working with Balfour Beatty Construction Northern Ltd to understand how this successful project can be implemented across other projects to secure increased benefits . |
